NSW Rural Fire Service rolls out virtual firefighter training thanks to Black Summer donations

NewsAugust 8th, 2023

Great to see coverage from 7NEWS Australia on the NSW Rural Fire Service and their use of the FLAIM Trainer in the NSW Riverina. The system is one of many purchased with donations received after the severe 2019/2020 fire season (Black Summer) and will be used to help volunteer firefighters in the Riverina region replicate real life emergency situations – specifically rural grass fires, hay shed and machinery fires – in a safe space, as they prepare for the upcoming season.

NSW RFS has 69 brigades across the Riverina – we thank Commissioner Rob Rogers and the team for their dedication to training their volunteers and look forward to continuing to work with them on their immersive learning solutions.

Shout out to journalist Marla Sommer for a great feature.
