VR medical emergency fire safety training
Air ambulance fire management
Trainees encounter a fire scenario aboard an air ambulance, where a fire has started in the centre console mid-flight with a patient on board. This scenario tests their ability to use the PASS technique with the correct extinguisher, Halon, while considering the safety of approaching the fire. The training focuses on assessing risks and taking necessary actions, including safeguarding patients and crew.

Air ambulance land fire on the tarmac
In this scenario, an exhaust fire has ignited on an air ambulance stationed on the tarmac. Trainees learn to apply the PASS technique with suitable extinguishers, including Water, Dry Chemical/Powder, CO2, or Foam. The module emphasises a thorough assessment of the incident, determining the safety of extinguishing the fire, and implementing other crucial actions.
Handling medical bay fires in air ambulances
This scenario covers fires in the medical bay of an air ambulance, either in a medical bag or medical equipment. Trainees must protect the patient while extinguishing the fire using Halon. The training includes an assessment of the incident, determining the safety of the approach, and executing additional actions while ensuring patient safety.

Response to ambulance and hospital bed fires
Trainees respond to a fire in an ambulance caused by a faulty oxygen tank regulator and a fire in a hospital bed due to electric motor ignition. They apply the PASS technique and select appropriate extinguishers, considering whether the power is connected or isolated. The scenarios include assessing risks, determining safe approaches, and planning actions in deteriorating conditions.
