Hose line specifications
Hydraulic behaviour in the FLAIM FTS T2 and T3 system is standardised to ensure consistency of training outcomes. At approximately 150 GPM, flow characteristics align most closely with a 1¾" (45 mm) attack line, with an implicit assumption of a typical deployment length of around 30 m (100 ft equivalent).
Friction loss and pump discharge pressure (PDP) behaviour are embedded within the simulation model and are not exposed as user-adjustable hydraulic variables. The 1¾" behaviour should therefore be interpreted as an equivalent representation for training purposes — the goal is to allow firefighters to practise drills and skills (door procedure, gas cooling, search and rescue) rather than replicate hydraulically precise fire behaviour.
