Licensing and Subscription Update FAQ's
Why is the licensing model changing?
We are updating our licensing structure to align with our existing Terms of Sale. These terms have always outlined access limits when subscriptions are inactive. This update ensures fair and consistent application of licensing across all customers. The new structure also allows us to further customise our offerings with new feature access, scenario library expansion and early access for beta testing groups.
My scenario library only has three scenarios, why?
If your subscription is already expired as of 15 Feb 2026, your account will still remain accessible. However, scenario usage will be limited to three scenarios until your subscription is renewed. These scenarios are:
- Tutorial
- Office Bin Fire
- Residential Kitchen Fire
Please reach out to sales@flaimsystems.com to discuss renewing your subscription.
Will I lose my FLAIM Capture data if my subscription expires?
No. All your data, including scenarios, user information, and historical records, will remain safely stored in your Capture portal. The restriction only limits the number of scenarios that can be accessed while the subscription is inactive.
My subscription expires after the changes - what is going to happen?
When your license expires after these changes, you will receive a notification in the headset and receive a prompt to Enter a License Key. To recover access to your full library, reach out to sales@flaimsystems.com. We also have a pool of three scenarios available for no charge.
Why are only three scenarios available out of subscription?
The three-scenario limit allows our customers to retain limited operational access while also ensuring our platform continues to be supported and maintained through full active subscriptions.
Will this affect kits currently in an active subscription?
No. Customers with active subscriptions will continue to have full access in accordance with their licensing agreement. This subscription will expire at the date they have paid to. The only impact to actively subscribed units will be that they will be prompted to connect the unit online once every 30 days.
What happens after I renew my subscription?
Once your subscription is renewed, full access to all scenarios and features will be restored. Please reach out to sales@flaimsystems.com to begin this conversation. You will be provided with a license key to enter into your kit.
Will I be notified before my subscription expires?
Yes. We provide notification reminders inside the FLAIM headset before subscription expiry to help avoid interruptions to your access. You are also able to check your expiry date in the FLAIM Launcher menu.
I bought my FEX kit from a verified reseller - what will this mean for me?
Please ensure you have registered your FEX kit on https://flaimsystems.com/registration. This ensures we provide you with your full subscription period. If you would like to renew your subscription, please reach out to your verified reseller first.
Can exceptions be made to the three scenario limit?
We understand operational requirements may vary. If you believe you require temporary accommodation, please contact our sales@flaimsystems.com team to discuss options.
I have some older kits which are expired, but my newer kits are still operational?
Licenses are applied to kits individually. Licenses must be renewed for each kit. For further options, please reach out to sales@flaimsystems.com.
Who do I contact if I have questions?
Please contact support@flaimsystems.com or your account manager, who will be happy to assist with any questions regarding licensing or renewals.
