What does Fire EMT do?
Fire EMT (Fire Emergency Management Training) provides immersive planning and instruction to wardens and to commercial properties around Australia.
How many people do you train a year?
We provide training to thousands of people and hundreds of organisations all around the country.
From first response and general evacuations instruction, to warden instruction, to chief warden instruction, to fire panel instruction, to evacuation instruction.
How long have you been using FLAIM Extinguisher as part of your training solution?
The FLAIM system we have had for around about 18 months now.
Always positive feedback, from the trainers once they got into the rhythm of using it, definitely.
They really love it. They find it very realistic. Some of them are a little bit hesitant to put the headset on, but once they get it on and get using it – we have some safety protocols we follow to give them confidence because some people get a little claustrophobic wearing the headset – generally once they are up and running they love it and want to keep going and do more scenarios but we don’t have enough time.
What are the key benefits for your training organisation?
It’s cost effective and it’s very easy to transport, whereas with the practical live fire training, we have to move extinguishers, gas cylinders, trays – then we have safety we have to do because we are using gas – with FLAIM it’s a lot easier, we just need the classroom environment with a TV screen. It’s a lot more portable, we can transport it between states on a plane, put it in the back of car, which is a lot easier than carrying everything in a trailer on the back of a ute.
